The Old Clockmakers Dental Surgery
Case Study: Dental Surgery Powered by Mission PC
David Sinclair, The Old Clockmakers Dental Surgery, UK.
Background
Dr. David Sinclair speaks about Frontline’s Mission PC Reliability in Dental Practice.
As a dentist, my focus is on patient care. Behind the scenes, it is the reliability of my infrastructure that keeps the practice running smoothly. I have been using Frontline’s Mission PC systems for nearly two decades, and I can say without hesitation that they have never let me down.
In dentistry, timing and accuracy are essential. We rely on our systems to manage patient records, appointment schedules, treatment plans, and financials. That includes tracking who is coming in, who owes what, and what procedures are due. If the system goes down, the entire practice grinds to a halt. This is why resilience is not a luxury. It is a necessity.
Reliability
My first Frontline Mission PC was installed in 2010. It ran flawlessly for years, requiring only routine preventative maintenance. It handled everything from dental x-ray imaging to appointment tracking and billing without a single issue. When I decided to overhaul our infrastructure in 2018, it was not because the old Mission PC had failed. It was still working perfectly. But I was switching to “System for Dentists,” a bespoke dental software platform tailored to our workflow, and I wanted the latest technology to support it.
Naturally, I chose another Mission PC. The decision was simple. The previous system had delivered perfect operational service for over a decade, and I was not willing to compromise. The new Frontline Mission PC was configured to handle the demands of the new software. It was fast, stable, and built with the kind of engineering that gives me peace of mind.
That 2018 system is still in use today. It is running Windows 10 Pro, and continues to perform reliably every single day. However, with Windows 11 becoming the new standard, I have decided it is time to upgrade again. Not because the current PC has faltered. It hasn’t. But I want to stay ahead of the curve and ensure compatibility with future updates and security protocols.
And yes, it will be another Frontline Mission PC.
Lessons Learned
In my line of work, we do not have time for downtime. We need systems that just work. Frontline’s Mission PCs have proven themselves time and again. They are not just machines, they are part of the backbone of my practice. From tracking patient visits to managing treatment histories and financials, everything flows through that infrastructure.
I have recommended Frontline Mission PCs to colleagues over the years, and I will continue to do so. When you find a solution that is this dependable, you stick with it. Dentistry is built on trust. Trust between practitioner and patient, and trust in the tools we rely on. For me, Frontline’s Mission PCs have earned that trust.
